My Travel Experiences at Holy City of Benaras

Benaras or Varanasi is a Holy city is in the Eastern part of U.P., with hundreds of temples. It is particularly famous for Kashi Vishwanath Temple (Lord Shiva) and the beautiful Ganges river flowing across. I was fortunate to take my customers thrice within one year (2023) to Benaras. It is quite a long drive from Delhi, and we had to make a one stop-over before reaching destination.

The most amazing thing is that we saw hundreds of foreigner tourists from all around the Globe. They specially gather in the evening after sunset near the Ganges to watch the evening Aarti/ Pooja. It is a fantastic experience, and you feel immersed in the spiritual vibrations surrounding you.

Benaras is a 24 hour city. It seems it never sleeps. Restaurants are open way past mid night. During the day you can see devotees offering their oblations to their deities, and also to river Ganges ( locally called Ganga Maiya)

In the morning and afternoon hundreds of devotees take a dip in the Holy Ganges and feel re-born.
